We are back with another installment of our Quick Bites series. Today, we are looking into Panera Bread. Known for its focus on all natural “clean” ingredients and having a transparent menu, it is a popular restaurant for those wanting to choose healthier options when eating out. I appreciate Panera Bread’s focus on removing artificial ingredients, sweeteners, coloring, and flavors to provide more wholesome food. But, just as we have learned by reviewing other places, it is still important to analyze the menu to determine the healthier options. Homemade Vanilla Almond Granola

I have a confession: I used to hate yogurt. I tried many different types, brands and flavors, but every time, I couldn’t get past the texture. But, my life changed when I discovered granola. The texture added just the crunch I needed, and I have been hooked ever since. But, walking down the cereal aisle at the grocery store on a quest for granola can be overwhelming. There are hundreds of options available, and if you are not careful, some can provide a long list of ingredients with unnecessary sugar and fat grams.

Favorite phone apps, Part 1: Nutrition

Every year, it seems like my cell phone is becoming more and more useful. I answer emails, make my grocery lists, read books, catch up on the news, shop and even control a light switch in my house all from my phone. Ok, I admit I love technology! I get {really} excited when I receive a new gadget as a gift or the newest update is available for my iPhone! So, why not use my phone as an aid to living a healthier life!? There are thousands of phone applications out there that are geared towards fitness and nutrition, but it’s hard to know which ones work and those that don’t.  So, I have decided to narrow down the list to some of my favorite nutrition and fitness phone apps! Caracol review + Giveaway!

My husband and I both enjoy trying new restaurants and experiencing a variety of cuisines from around the world. And, we live in the perfect city for doing so.
