Meal Delivery Part 1: Hello Fresh

Meal planning can be a time consuming part to eating healthy, and not to mention, it is difficult to have a desire to prepare meals at home when the same recipes are on rotation every week or two. Over the past few months, I have been hearing more and more about meal delivery systems that provide fresh ingredients to your doorstep without the hassle of grocery shopping or meal planning.  The benefit of using these companies is that much of the work leading up to a healthy meal prepared at home is taken care of, just the cooking is left! I have been trying out various meal delivery systems and am excited to share my thoughts on each company in a new series. Better for you Blueberry Pancakes

There is nothing like diving into a warm stack of pancakes with a steaming cup of coffee on a Sunday morning. Pancakes have always been more of a weekend breakfast for us, as they take longer to prepare, and I used to think they were too indulgent to be eaten on a daily basis.

Now a few years later,  I found myself with a finicky one year old, looking for new recipes to try. One morning, I whipped up a batch of blueberry pancakes for her and she inhaled them. She has eaten a pancake almost every day for the last year (yes, we do offer plenty of other options, but she requests pancakes).

Fad diets are just that- a fad. Many fad diets are very restrictive on certain food groups, nutrients or both. Research has continued to show that though you may lose weight quickly on some of these diets, the weight loss is generally not maintained long term.
